As the management thinker Peter Drucker famously said, “What gets measured gets done.”So we have also worked hard in the last year on developing better Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all our contracts to make sure we deliver maximum value.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are defined as ‘the critical (key) indicators of progress toward an intended result.’

KPIs provide our customers with a focus for improvements in what we do for them and an analytical basis for decision making and focussing attention on what matters most.

Key Performance Indicators -the Nirvana way

We agree on a service level agreement (SLA) with all our customers and as part of that process we agree on defined key performance indicators (KPI’s) Through the agreement of the SLA,  KPIs are created for our staff, using a process that ensures we able to manage staff performance so we can meet our KPIs and deliver real value.

Our staff are able to see their performance level as a monthly mark out of ten via our app.

This makes it easier to manage performance and feedback as this is instantly communicated to the staff. They see how well they are performing and what their scores are. We can also look at performance on a site-wide basis and see where there are further improvements needed or where we might need to do some further training.

Overall we grade performance at three levels

Not effective – Below minimum job requirements

Effective – Satisfactorily meets job requirements

Highly effective – Clearly exceeds job requirements

The individual factors we measure include:

-Carrying work as instructed by management

-Awareness of COSHH

-Behaviour and Attitude towards the job

-Clean and in Uniform

-Completes all tasks on the  work task list and marks them off each day

-Reports accidents as per the employee handbook

-Reports sickness in a timely manner and as per the employee handbook

-Arrives at times designated and stays the full time as advised on our system.

-Use of systems provided by the company.

-Uses own initiative or seeks help when required ( Does not just leave a job left which has a negative impact on the business reputation)

-Able to work on own initiative and do the work to the required standard

-Works as part of the team
