The job role of a Caretaker whether it be in a School setting or a Private setting is often seen as one of the most important job roles. The caretaker responsibilities vary from site to site. The first jobs are the opening and closing of the building, making sure the grounds are safe and also various maintenance jobs within the site which include Water Testing and weekly Fire Alarm checks.
Our Caretakers come with relevant qualifications are DBS and reference checked. Their initial training courses which are completed online prior to commencement are as follows:

- Health and Safety Awareness
- COSHH
- Asbestos Awareness
- Safeguarding Children Level 1
- Fire awareness / Marshall
- Legionella and Legionnaires Disease Awareness
- Working at height
Sites require differently skilled Caretakers, some have swimming pools with weekly water checks being completed. Others jobs could be meeting and showing contractors around. School caretakers are responsible for overseeing the cleaning staff. Having the correct Caretaker is key to running the site.
