Why we’re different

In the first three years or so, Nirvana was predominantly a domestic cleaning business. Some of our domestic clients asked us to provide cleaning services for businesses they knew. So the commercial side of the company started to expand. High standards of customer service have always driven me, as that is what makes a business successful. I think our clients love that, so the business grew strongly in the next few years.
Over the years, we have managed all sorts of projects, from cleaning 5 Star Boutique Hotels and extreme & crimes scene cleaning to the cleaning of Public Toilets and general office and industrial cleaning. These days we have a strong portfolio of School Cleaning and Caretaking contracts and a more comprehensive commercial client range.

We are passionate about quality and customer service excellence. We know that sound quality assurance systems and external accreditation are vital to achieving the highest standards. External accreditation helps us to stay focussed on quality management principles and continuous improvement.

Lloyd Brown

Managing Director

I started the business back in 2011; previously, I worked for BT as a workflow analyst. I have always had an entrepreneurial outlook and love looking for business opportunities. After ten or so years, I felt I was ready to start my own business. I’m a very hands-on person who likes to get things done. I still get to do some on-site cleaning to keep in touch with what’s going on at the ‘sharp’ end. These days my role is more about the leadership, overall direction and the performance of the business. Like most business owners, I’m learning how to delegate and let the team members get on with their jobs.

Commercial Director (Vacant)

Commercial Director

I joined Nirvana in 2015. I have been in the facilities management business for more than 20 years and have dealt with major ‘blue chip’ clients. I have over 25 years of public sector contract knowledge. I’m mainly responsible for the business’s commercial side, but we are a small team, so I also help with any HR and finance issues. I’m usually the first one to answer the phone when you call our office number.

Our Employees

As we are very focussed on customer service excellence, our people come first, so we care about our fellow team members. We have many excellent people in our wider team who have been with us for years.

We work hard on developing our people on-site to retain them and improve their skills. We find that’s the best way to provide outstanding service and reduce the number of contractors needed to provide the service to a high standard.

For some clients we act as an agency, others prefer a fully managed service, we value our staff and their development, and we know how vital retaining our staff as long term team members are. We don’t like zero-hours contracts, so all staff are directly employed and contracted for a set number of hours, we pay more than the minimum wage, providing pensions and paid holiday.
